Interested in how to track your kid’s cell phone?
You are probably interested in one of three things with tracking a cell phone:
- Tracking where your child is (tracking the cell phone’s location)
- Tracking what apps they are using (tracking phone usage)
- Tracking who they are texting and calling (tracking social use)
AT ANY GIVEN POINT IN TIME!
Tracking a phone’s location
With ParentWise, you can check the location of a phone at any time and the location will automatically update every 3 minutes. That's right, every 180 seconds, we will ping your child's phone for an updated location - that's a very small interval to give you the most accurate location info! If we, the Parents, are going to pay for the phone, the music, the apps, the games, the data - we should be able to see where they are and where they have been.
Can I track my kid’s phone if the phone is currently lost?
This is the biggest question we receive about tracking phones. If you do not have ParentWise installed on your kid’s phone, then the answer is no.
Good news though! Once you find your kid’s phone, you can install ParentWise and never have that problem again.
Are you tired of trying to keep up with your kids?
Let me show you how you can get ahead of your kids with this quick overview of ParentWise.
Does your sweet little Madison always lie about where she is?
One of our friends, Hank, had a daughter that always was mis-representing about where she actually was. His other 4 girls never caused him issues. Madison, however, never told him where she was or where she was going.
One day Hank saw Madison’s car down the street at her Aunt’s house and called to ask where she was…
That Saturday afternoon, Hank was lucky enough to see his daughter’s car to figure out where she really was, are you going to always be that lucky?
With ParentWise you don’t have to be lucky. You can check in at any time to see where any of your children are!
What if Aiden sneaks out of the house again?
If your child is sneaking out or skipping school, does that mean you’ll have to wake up and randomly check their location throughout the night? No! With ParentWise you can set up custom alerts based on your needs for each child.
Want to be notified if Aiden leaves a 200 yard radius from your house between the hours of 10pm and 6am? You can do that.
Want to be notified when Emma gets to school on weekdays? You can set her school as a known location & ask to receive an alert when she enters and leaves the school area.
Tracking what apps are being used by your child
We will never be able to out-tech our super techy teens.
When Sarah’s parents didn’t want her to use SnapChat, they would check her phone every day to make sure she didn’t have it installed or was using it against their will.
What her parent’s learned later (much later) was that she would download SnapChat on the bus every morning on the way to school & uninstall it every day on the way home.
No matter what we try, as parents, we will never be able to out-tech our super techy kids.
How did Sarah's parents finally figure this out? One day they were checking an alternate email address that she thought they wouldn’t check, and learned that she had been installing & uninstalling the app daily. She had used a secondary email address and deleted every email from her inbox about the app download & install notifications. Her only mistake was not removing the deleted items from the trash.
Will you be as lucky as Sarah’s parents and be able to find all of the apps that were installed on your child’s phone in the trash of their email?
With ParentWise, you don’t have to be lucky. You can monitor daily what apps are being used on your kid’s phone & even get instant alerts sent to you when a new app is installed or uninstalled.
Did you know about the weekly recaps?
Monitoring made easy! ParentWise sends weekly recaps to your email and gives you an overview of all of your children's phone activity for that week.
With instant alerts and weekly reporting, you don't ever have to login to the software again if you don't want.

Tracking who your child is texting and calling
Being a mobile parent is more than just knowing where your child is at all times and what apps they are using. It’s also about who your child is communicating with.
How do you know if anyone in your kid’s life is negatively influencing them?
ParentWise let’s you know who your child is texting and how often.
Is reading my kid’s texts an invasion of privacy?
Yes. We agree with you, which is why ParentWise has a privacy guarantee to never be able to read any conversations or listen to any calls.
As a matter of fact, NONE of that private information will be collected or stored anywhere. We want that information to be private & your children will be glad to know that too.
With ParentWise, you will only be able to know WHO your child is communicating with and HOW often.
This still allows an opportunity for parents to have rules about who to text or how often to be texting.
What is obsessive texting? That’s for you to decide, but with ParentWise you can setup alerts to be notified if your child is texted a specific contact in their phone or if they are texting too much.
There are even curfew alerts for you to set “after hours” and be notified if your kid sneaks on their phone past curfew.
Let us show you how simple it is to setup alerts...
A simple school notification alert:
Get notified when your child arrives at school & gets back home after school.
Create a new Location
In the Locations section of the ParentWise software, you will click the Manage/Create Locations button to setup a new location. Search for or enter in your kid's school address. Give your new alert a name & then select which guardian (parent) devices you want to be notified of the new alert. (Yes. That means Mom & Dad can even have different alert notifications if you want!). After you enter your kid's school as a location, add your home next.
Create a new Entering Area alert
In the Alerts section of the ParentWise software, you will select Locations | Entering area for the "Type" of your new alert. Give your new alert a name (such as "School Days Arrival" & then select which guardian (parent) devices you want to be notified of the new alert. (Yes. That means Mom & Dad can even have different alert notifications if you want!)
Setup the days, times, & locations for the alert to be active
After you created the "Entering area" alert, you will be prompted to add the first conditions of the alert. Select Monday through Friday (school days) for the alert to be active. Choose your school's location and a time span of a few hours in the morning of when your child should be arriving at school (you may want to take account for 2 hour delays and extend a little). After you setup the school's arrival days and times, do the same for your home. Click "Add Row" and this time select your Home as the location and a time frame after school of when they should be arriving home.
See how this single alert can notify you for BOTH safe arrival to school and safe arrival home after school?
Want to be notified if your child skips school or leaves school early? Simply, repeat steps #2 and #3 for a new "Locations | Leaving area" alert to be notified if your child leaves the school area.
